She sat across from me, alternately dabbing at the tears that kept coming and wringing the tissue in her hands.
“I can’t do this on my own.”
I nodded in understanding, knowing what was coming next.
“My husband served during the war, but there is no help for him now that he needs in-home care. Everything we worked so hard for will be gone soon, and we’ll be left with nothing!”
My heart always aches in situations like these, but it helps to know that there are solutions for those who find themselves, in what seem to be, impossible circumstances.
